Piano Lessons

Maria’s love for music started in high school when she auditioned at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music for private lessons. There she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. As a student, she was an accompanist in several community choirs, and college recitals.

When she moved to the United States, she earned a second Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts which later became known as the University of the Arts. At that time, she was the accompanist for the High School of Performing Arts in Philadelphia as well as the Music Director of a Methodist church in Havertown, PA. 

 

After earning her teaching certificate, she taught chorus at Interboro High School, and Music classes to K-8 grade levels at Ss. Colman-John Neumann School. At the same time she was also providing private piano lessons. Maria volunteered to direct two musicals: “Godspell” and “The Christmas Carol”, at St. Andrew’s Middle School in Drexel Hill, PA. 

 

Maria enjoys teaching and sharing her love for music to all age levels. Maria teaches piano for Main Street Music.
