New York City Native Antonio Arosemena is an accomplished bassoonist and recorder player whose repertoire spans the Renaissance through modern music. He is highly experienced in performing and teaching saxophone, clarinet and flute as well. Antonio studied bassoon with Monica Ellis (Imani Winds quintet) and recorder with Rachel Begley and Nina Stern. He has attended the Amherst Early Music Festival for three years, where he was coached in baroque bassoon with leading performers and directors including Dominic Teresi (principal bassoonist, Tafelmusik Orchestra) and the late Michael McCraw (former principal bassoonist, Tafelmusik Orchestra). A true conservatory trained musician, Antonio studied recorder performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music, and received his Master of Music in Bassoon Performance, and his teaching certification from the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music.
As an advocate for music education, Antonio holds
teaching licenses in 3 states (NY, NJ, & PA), and has dedicated himself to teaching music in public schools for the past 13 years. He prides himself with having taught every grade level from pre-k through 12th grade (9.5 yrs elementary/middle, 3.5 yrs high school). During his eight years of teaching in New York City and five years teaching in diverse suburbs just north of NYC, Antonio piloted instrumental music programs, acquired several grant programs, and rebuilt programs that were near closure.Antonio is currently the instrumental music teacher at Northeast High School in Philadelphia, where he directs the Arts Academy band and orchestra. Antonio teaches all woodwind instruments for Main Street Music.
Anthony is a Philadelphia based saxophonist, flutist and clarinetist. He attended the University of the Arts where he received an undergraduate degree in jazz performance and a master’s degree in music education. He is versed in the styles of Jazz, Classical, Funk and Pop and brings a unique perspective into any musical setting. Anthony teaches in the Philadelphia School District and has served as a clinician for various ensembles. You can find him regularly performing in the greater Philadelphia area with groups such as the Philly Pops, the Jack Saint Clair Orchestra, Wack Cheddar, and countless others.
