Evan Smith is a woodwind specialist located in the greater Philadelphia area and teaches flute, clarinet and saxophone for Main Street Music. Evan graduated from Rowan University with Magna Cum Laude Honors, earning three degrees, a Bachelors in Subject Matter Music Education General (certified K-12), a Bachelors in Subject Matter Music Education Instrumental (certified K-12), and a Bachelors in Jazz Studies/Performance. He has studied directly under great musicians such as Denis DiBlasio, Lili Levinowitz, Tim Powell, Larry Mckenna, George Rabbai, Dean Schneider, Carl Cox, Tony Salicandro, Richard Dammers, and more.
Mr. Smith has been involved in the education and character development of young children since 2007. His extensive background in education allows him to meet each student’s individual learning needs while making the process of learning fun. He is currently the cross district elementary instrumental educator in
the Washington Township Public School system. Outside of education, Evan Smith is a sought-after freelance musician often asked to participate in classical recitals, jazz concerts, rock/funk concerts, and pit orchestras throughout the tri-state area. He also composes original music and co-leads for his own band named Ghost House, a modern jazz sextet. Lastly, he performs occasionally with the Canadian rock group The Arkells on their east coast tours as a member of the Philadelphia Brass Boys horn section. Evan’s passion for education and performance drives him to improve every day and instill that motivation within his students.
Anthony is a Philadelphia based saxophonist, flutist and clarinetist. He attended the University of the Arts where he received an undergraduate degree in jazz performance and a master’s degree in music education. He is versed in the styles of Jazz, Classical, Funk and Pop and brings a unique perspective into any musical setting. Anthony teaches in the Philadelphia School District and has served as a clinician for various ensembles. You can find him regularly performing in the greater Philadelphia area with groups such as the Philly Pops, the Jack Saint Clair Orchestra, Wack Cheddar, and countless others.
