Nalani Matthias
Nalani Matthias is a passionate musician with a deep-rooted love for a wide variety of musical styles and genres, both as a performer and educator. From an early age she recognized that music and teaching would be a vital aspect of her life, dedicating herself to years of study in choir, piano, voice, and theatre. As an educator Nalani believes in a collaborative teaching effort to foster creativity and engagement. She aims to inspire all people at any age and ability to explore the transformative power of music- while also having fun!
Nalani received her B.M. in voice performance with a minor in theatre at Brigham Young University Hawai’i, and is a recent graduate from Temple University with an M.M. in Vocal Arts. There she split her time between opera and musical theatre. Recent roles include: Waitress (Jenna’s mom, u/s Becky), Nunsense (Sister Robert Ann), Massenet’s Cendrillon (La Fee), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), and Footloose (Ariel). Nalani teachers voice and piano for Main Street Music.
