Luke Perkins
Luke Perkins is a passionate Musical Theatre and Opera singer and is ecstatic to be teaching Voice at Main Street Music. Luke is a recent graduate from Albright College with a BA Double Major in Theatre and Vocal Performance. Throughout his college years, while Luke enjoyed singing and performing in shows, he found much enjoyment in teaching through both music directing and tutoring, which eventually led him into wanting to begin teaching as a vocal coach as he found a love for helping others learn and grow into strong singers and performers. Luke has plenty of experience in performing with some of his favorite roles including Fredrik Egerman (A Little Night Music), Quasimodo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), The Baker (Into The Woods), Father (Hänsel und Gretel), and Miss Trunchbull (Matilda), with some of his other musical hobbies including songwriting, composing, transcribing, and even puppeteering!
With experience in teaching multiple different voice types and styles, whether it be for a recital, an audition, or just for plain fun, Luke happily welcomes any new students, regardless of age, experience, or preferred genre of singing. When working with Luke, he ensures a safe, warm, and welcoming space where the student can have fun singing what they enjoy, while still learning a lot and growing as a singer, and promises to deliver an extensive knowledge of the voice and how he can best shape up each and every student to be the best that they can be.
